Guerillas on Powell Street

Adapted by Rody Vera
From a novel by Benjamin Pimentel

Synopsis: Guerillas on Powell Street is the story of Filipino WWII veterans living in San Francisco who found refuge on Powell Street where they talk about life, love and an equity bill long buried in the halls of the U.S. Congress. In the twilight of their years, the men share a bond that makes them hold on to America's promise of recognizing their valor for a war fought more than 60 years ago. The play intimates a sense of pride, humor and perseverance that only Filipinos can endure amidst tragedy and uncertainty.
